Totally off topic, but if I prevent data loss for just one person… if you have Quickbooks Pro 2006 or 2007 for the Mac, don’t open it. Don’t launch it. Just don’t. It’ll delete everything from your Desktop. I’ll update this entry when it’s no longer true. Updated: It now is safe to launch Quickbooks for Mac again.

Yes, Quickbooks is one of the worst written and managed programs ever built for Mac or PC. The functionality is great, but the file handling and compatability is horrendus. My wife and I lost 6 years of financial data when we attemtpted to upgrade her (PC) verion last year, then lost another 6 months when we attempted to port it over to our iMac recently.
