Beatpaths was 10-6 last week, for a total record of 29-18. My “personal picks” that conflict with the Beatpaths picks were 1-1; I’m 2-3 so far.
This looks like a semi-boring week, with several interesting teams having byes.
Atlanta at CAROLINA: Carolina is highly favored over Atlanta. The two teams are playing for a beatpath, with a very interesting graph outcome if Atlanta wins.
Cleveland at CINCINNATI: Both teams have had similar seasons so far, but Cincinnati holds the tiebreaker. The teams are playing for a beatpath. I’m not going to pick Cleveland again this week. Also, 0-3 Cincinnati has only lost to undefeated teams so far.
Houston at JACKSONVILLE: Two teams playing for a beatpath. Jacksonville is favored due to tiebreakers.
DENVER at Kansas City: I think the Kansas City announcer’s “TOUCHDOWN! KAAAAN! ZZAAS! CITY!” is one of the more annoying catch phrases of announcers. Hopefully it won’t happen this week. Anyone else have any any catch phrase pet peeves? Denver gets a redundant beatpath with a win, or Kansas City beatloops Oakland away if they win.
San Francisco at NEW ORLEANS: Playing for a beatpath – New Orleans is favored despite having a worse record, due to the strength of their beatpaths.
ARIZONA at NY Jets: Arizona is highly favored here, and they’re playing for a beatpath. My personal pick is for the NY Jets, which would strengthen a few other teams in the same way Washington currently looks strong. (And if Atlanta beats Carolina…)
GREEN BAY at Tampa Bay: This is a close pick. They’re playing for a beatpath. A Green Bay victory leads to more interesting graph dynamics.
Minnesota at TENNESSEE: Two more teams playing for a beatpath. The graph is going to change a lot this week. Tennessee is clearly favored.
SAN DIEGO at Oakland: This is actually a close pick due to how San Diego’s season has gone so far. I’d personally pick San Diego either way, though. Playing for a beatpath – the AFC West could end up as a vertical line this week.
BUFFALO at St. Louis: Buffalo has a beatpath to St. Louis. If St. Louis wins, Seattle gets beatlooped away.
Washington at DALLAS: The game of the week, according to the rankings. #3 at #2. Playing for a beatpath – if Washington wins, we could see a vertical line with the NFC East, with #5 Philadelphia in last place.
PHILADELPHIA at Chicago: Philadelphia is highly favored, and could take a major tumble if Chicago wins, as the two teams are playing for a beatpath.
BALTIMORE at Pittsburgh: Baltimore is slightly favored over Pittsburgh due to tiebreakers. I will personally pick Pittsburgh.
I love Devin Hester, and I like the announcer who does it, but that “Devin Hester YOU ARE REE DICULOUS” tends to wear after time. Though I guess the problem there is that he scores so many times.
Bears could really help themselves by winning here…Go Bears!
