In honor of the NBA season starting, here is the beatpath graph of the 2008-2009 season, including Boston’s championship run. I didn’t follow the NBA much last season, so you’ll have to let me know if there are any interesting surprises here.

This week, the winning team outscored the losing team by more than twenty points on average. It was also a bad week for picks, although the upsets tended to be the closer victories, with the exception of beatpaths picking Chicago. As you might expect, the rankings have undergone a significant shuffle this week. Three matchups looked like pretty significant upsets:

Some crazy activity this week. All in all, the picks were pretty accurate this week – 10-4 for all methods – but there was more than one true upset. Oakland?? We also have some new loop activity. I was 9-5 this week, and the BeatPicks were 3-1, making them 11-2 for the season.
